Krabi is a town located on southern part of Thailand. It is a place where you will find green islands risen vertically to the sea. Its beautiful isolated beaches, still conserved in their natural forms are a major attraction for tourists and travelers. Most of these beaches are still not accessible by road and one needs to consider an option of longtail boat as the mode of transportation.
Krabi, being a very popular tourist destination, provides various modes of transportation. You can choose a flight to krabi – it hosts an international airport. You can choose to drive from phuket. You may take a ferry to Krabi’s Klong Jilad pier. The ferry starts from phuket and has a stop at phi-phi (Tonsai Pier). I took the ferry option from Phi-Phi (Tonsai Pier) to Krabi. It takes around 3 hours from Phuket. The ferry will drop you at Klong-Jilad pier. From there you can either take a bus to your hotel or a taxi.
Upon reaching Krabi, you can choose to stay either at Ao Nang or Krabi Town, which are most preferred destinations for staying in krabi, or any other isolated part of Krabi. Klong Muang is a place that has couple of properties and a secluded/raw beach. Sheraton resort is the luxurious resort in Klong Muang. There are a few properties other than Sheraton, but no where close to Sheraton.
If you choose to stay at Klong Muang, remember that you’re far-off from Krabi town. Moreover, there is no nightlife in Klong Muang. The place boasts of its quiet and calm holiday structure. However, its is not completely isolated like an island or something. There are reasonable options available for daily needs, such as shopping/restaurants/taxi/massage/etc. Following are some photographs that were taken outside Sheraton Resorts (Krabi) :
The next section shares some traveler tips. Firstly, ensure to carry mosquito/bug repellents. Bugs especially bed bugs are in abundance and cause a great deal of inconvenience. Another one would be to dine at “The Terrace”. This Thai restaurant is located bank opposite Sheraton resort with amazing food at very reasonable prices. You should also try the street food and fresh juices. There are several genuine Thai massage parlors in Klong Muang and are excellent for therapies as well. Do not travel to local markets in bikinis/trunks as the local population is offended by it. Be careful with the beach as its very raw. It is not guarded and there is warning board indicating risk from crabs and jelly fish. However, if you’re staying at Sheraton, enjoy the swim in pools with a magnificent view.
Before ending, would like to list some of the activities you can indulge at Krabi (Klong Muang):

Enjoy your stay. 🙂
