Installation Guidelines

The sales person will visit your home and explain the system functioning and do a survey and details about the installation process. Following are some considerations:

  1. Wiring: Since there is an electronic circuit involved, you need to have a wiring and you can opt for an “In wall duct (1 inch)” or outer covered pipes. If you’re going for a duct, please ensure co-ordination between the two teams wiz. The domestic labor and security system team.
  2. Ducting: It is suggested to have wiring in a duct that does not contain electrical wires. This is done to prevent interference.
  3. Rented Accommodation: You can get in touch with your landlord as to how you can setup wiring.
  4. Bell Cover: Since it involves a electronic circuit, please ensure that the bell is protected from water during rains.

Notes:

  1. Ensure highest level of co-ordination between the teams as they tend to play a blame game afterwards.
  2. Ensure that the system is pre-tested. My installation team ended up wasting 2 hours only to find out that the device was faulty.

These systems are delicate and may give some post installation issues. Maintain calm as ultimately it helps in ensuring some extra level of safety.

  1. Hi, can you give me the top 5 brand names who provides these solutions? I am also looking at multi apartment door phone.

    Thanks,
    Vicky

    • Vicky,

There are big companies like godrej, zicom, etc which deal in such products. I cannot recommend any as i have not used these products.
However, i will suggest you to go and visit markets. There are some dealers who have a demonstration setup as well.
On another note, Trying a local vendor may be risky but the service/warranty may have flexibility if you can build a rapport.

All the best. Please post your feedback. It will be helpful for others. 🙂
